Our mission . . .
Congregation Shir Shalom's mission is to be a stable, growing, and valued home of Jewish life in the Sonoma Valley that provides individuals and families the opportunity to celebrate, practice, and learn from our Jewish culture and religion in a welcoming, and socially fulfilling environment.
Our core values . . .
Shir Shalom is a place for Jewish and interfaith families to come to study our traditions and Torah in the context of multi-denominational Judaism; to celebrate Jewish heritage; to support life cycle events; to lift the spirit through meditation, reflection and worship; and to provide a social center for Jewish families and friends.
We are welcoming and inclusive, and support the development of friendships and bonds without regard to our members’ national origin, race, color, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, or physical/mental abilities.
We provide for the lifelong educational needs of all our congregants, helping them to cultivate a love and understanding of Jewish heritage, of Israel, and the joys of Judaism.
Our congregation is committed to its youth, who are our future, and passes on to them knowledge of Judaism, its historical heritage and contemporary meaning, enabling them to develop a strong Jewish identity.
