Shir Shalom is an inclusive community that welcomes people with open hearts, minds, and arms. We are a community of all ages, backgrounds, and family preferences. Our membership includes many interfaith families—Jews by birth, Jews by choice, and those who choose to remain non Jewish. We are married, single, widowed, and divorced. We are straight, gay, old, young, and in between. Like Sonoma, we take pride in our diversity of mind and spirit.
Ours is a community that nurtures relationships. We care about one another—Tikkun Olam—in times of celebration and in challenging times we want to be there to help and support our members "in sickness and in health.”
Together we pray and celebrate—Shabbat, Jewish festivals, and life cycle events. We believe in life-long learning—from youth to adult education—we offer varied programs and events.
We provide a format for participation, involvement, and volunteer opportunities for spiritual, educational, social events, activities, outings, dinners, and traditional Jewish holiday celebrations. These set the stage for fostering friendships and relationships.
We have teams and committees in which congregants are encouraged to become actively connected, to make our community vital, energized, interesting, and involved to create a meaningful future.
Explore our website to see what makes us special; give us a call to chat about our offerings; or email us for more information.
