Sonoma County Yom HaShoah Commemoration
Sunday, April 27th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Congregation Shomrei Torah
The Annual Sonoma County Yom HaShoah Commemoration will be held on Sunday, April 27th, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. The event will be held live at Congregation Shomrei Torah, with streaming available for people who can’t attend in person.
The theme of this year’s commemoration will be “Remember One…Remember All.”
There will be musical performances as well as candle lighting by Jewish and other Holocaust survivors and those targeted by genocide.
The program is free, but registration is required. Information about how to register for the event and submit names for the memorial book is available at: https://www.jccsoco.org/yom-hashoah. You can view last year’s commemoration using the same link.

This highly regarded series explores a unique theme each year to provide diverse perspectives on genocide, past and present. This year’s theme, “Genocide Past, Present, and Future?” invites students and the broader community to examine the causes, impacts, and prevention of genocide. Featuring Holocaust survivors, liberators, and scholars, the series challenges participants to reflect on human resilience, individual accountability, and the moral responsibility to combat injustice.
